Clay ended up replacing a messy combo of Apollo exports, spreadsheets, and manual LinkedIn scraping for our outbound motion. I put it into our stack about 3 months ago for a 6 person B2B sales team, mainly for data enrichment and automated research. The ability to waterfall across dozens of data sources in one table and then trigger no-code workflows into HubSpot and our outreach tool is honestly the standout. Claygent doing live web research on target accounts has made our personalization feel way less generic, and the batch enrichment alone probably saves me an hour a day. That said, it is not a casual salesperson’s toy. You really need a “GTM engineer” mindset to get the most out of it, and the learning curve over the first 2 weeks was real. The Starter plan at $149 is fair for what you get, but credits go fast if you are experimenting heavily. If you are willing to invest time in building workflows, Clay is a beast. If you want a simple, out-of-the-box prospecting tool, you might get frustrated.
